Pontoons are the easiest boat to rent for a relaxed bay day. The flat deck holds coolers, a grill, and a group of 10 to 40 guests. Book My Boat lines up pontoons, tritoons, and double-deckers with licensed captains. Pull up to the sandbar, grill out, and float between rounds. Most trips run 4 hours and leave from Haulover Park or Dinner Key. Bigger 50ft party pontoons handle bachelorette and birthday groups.
A pontoon is a flat-deck boat sitting on two or three large floats. The shallow draft means you anchor right at the sandbar. The flat layout is the most family-friendly setup on the water.
Tritoons add a third float for more speed and weight capacity.
Find the perfect pontoon for your day on the water

Each pontoon style fits a different kind of day on the water.
Classic two-log pontoon. Stable, spacious, and easy to board. Best for relaxed bay cruising with up to 12 guests.
Three-log performance pontoon. Higher horsepower, faster speeds, and more weight capacity. Great for watersports and longer trips.
Two-level pontoon with slide, sundeck, and premium sound. The ultimate party platform with capacity for up to 24 guests.
Kid-friendly pontoon with Bimini top, cooler, and shallow draft. Perfect for sandbar days and family outings.
Keep the sandbar fun for everyone with a few simple rules.
Keep music at a reasonable volume — the sandbar is a shared space.
Pack out everything you bring in. Leave no trace on the sandbar.
Anchor with at least 50 feet of space between boats.
Be respectful of other boaters and wildlife. No wake zones exist for a reason.
Watch the tide — shallow water can ground your pontoon near the sandbar.
Flat water, sandbars, and skyline views — pick your pontoon adventure.

Real reviews from guests who booked pontoons through Book My Boat.
“Rented a tritoon for my birthday and it was the best day on the water. The captain knew all the best sandbar spots.”
“Perfect family outing. The pontoon was spotless, captain was great with the kids, and the sandbar was beautiful.”
“Double-decker pontoon was incredible. Enough room for our whole group of 20, slide was a hit, and sound system was amazing.”
Smaller pontoons start at $70 per hour. Standard 24 to 30 foot pontoons run $150 to $400 per hour. 50 foot party pontoons run $470 per hour. Most have a 3 to 4 hour minimum. Captain, fuel, and safety gear are included.
Not always. If you book with a captain, you do nothing. For self-drive, Florida requires a Boater Safety Card if you were born after January 1, 1988. The card takes about 4 hours to get online.
Standard pontoons hold 10 to 14 guests. Larger 30 foot pontoons hold 18 to 22. Double-deckers hold 16 to 24. Party pontoons at 50 feet hold up to 40 guests.
Yes. Pontoons sit shallow so they pull up to Haulover or Nixon easily. Your captain times the trip with the tide. Weekends fill up by 11am so most groups push to leave the dock by 9am.
Pontoons are the most kid-friendly boats on the platform. Florida law requires children under 6 to wear a life jacket while underway on vessels under 26 feet. Most pontoons fall under that rule. Jackets are provided.
Smaller pontoons usually do not. Mid-size 26 to 30 foot pontoons often have a small head. Larger 50 foot party pontoons carry a proper enclosed bathroom.
Most listings allow a portable propane grill. Charcoal is restricted. A few boats provide a built-in grill. Check the listing for the boat-specific rule.
1 week ahead for weekdays. 3 to 4 weeks for weekends. Peak season (December through April) and holiday weekends sell out 6 to 8 weeks in advance.
